You’re looking at your organization’s sales data, and you want to see the relative contribution of each product category and region to your total sales. To determine this, you’ll build a tree map.

Good luck!

Build a tree map showing Sales of each Category in each Region.

From the Data pane:

  1. Drag Sales to Size on the Marks card.

  2. Drag Region to Color on the Marks card.

  3. Drag Category to Detail on the Marks card.

  4. If a tree map is not displayed, change the mark type to Automatic or Square

Label your tree map with Sales, Category, and Region.

From the Data pane:

  1. Drag Category to Label on the Marks card.

  2. Drag Sales to Label on the Marks card.

  3. Drag Region to Label on the Marks card.

Great work! You’ve built a tree map to compare the relative contribution of Regions and Categories for each Region to Sales
