You've been asked to build visualizations for your organization to:
Compare sales by month and look for seasonal trends.
Show the trend in sales for the last four years and analyze the results.
On Sheet 1, create a chart showing the trend in Sales by Order Date year.
Select Sheet 1.
From the Data pane,
Drag Sales to Rows.
Drag Order Date to Columns.
Change the chart to show Sales in bars, over a discrete date part of Month for Order Date.
On the Marks card, click the marks type drop-down arrow, and select Bar.
On Columns, point to the Order Date field, click the down-arrow, and on the date field menu select the Month (May) date part.
On Sheet 1, you now have a bar chart that shows sales by discrete month, and can see that sales in February are the lowest, and sales in November and December are the highest.

On Sheet 2, once again, create a chart showing the trend in Sales by Order Date year.
Select Sheet 2.
From the Data pane,
Drag Sales to Rows.
Drag Order Date to Columns.
Change the chart to show Sales over a continuous date value of Month for Order date.
On Columns, point to the Order Date field, click the down-arrow, and on the date field menu select the Month (May 2015) date value.
On Sheet 2, you now have a line chart that shows sales over the last few years, and can see the trend in sales for the organization is generally steadily increasing.
Great work! You've created visualizations and analyzed the seasonal and long term trends in sales.
